We are having a baby....SQUIRREL

I keep having stranger and stranger dreams. I thought it would be fun to share one of my recent favorites.
At first I kept dreaming we were having a baby boy. This has shifted over the last few weeks to dreaming about a baby girl. Then the other night...Patrick and I were in the delivery room and I gave birth to a healthy beautiful baby squirrel (gender undetermined).

Patrick and I were so happy and we thought it was the most adorable baby squirrel we had ever seen. It cried like a human baby but chattered away like a squirrel when not crying. (In the dream it did not bother us at all that I had given birth to a squirrel). All of our friends and family came to see our broad-tailed baby in the hospital and everyone was so happy for us. Everything was fine until we brought Baby Squirrel (we were still picking names, but "Octavius" was a front runner) home and Miles and Ella immediately began snifing the car seat--yes, it was in a car seat...safety first! There was initially a lot of sniffing and whining on their part....then the dream took a sharp turn downhill when they chased and killed Octavius the Squirrel. Needless to say I woke up in a panic and haven't gotten over it yet.

if you do in fact give birth to a baby squirrel- i will be happy to give him (or her) a loving and safe home, far away from miles and ella, whilst you and patrick try a second time for a human baby. greenwood- so named for its many green trees- would be quite a playground for any young tree-rat to blossom and grow. so no worries, little octavius has a bright future!!

Jamie told me you were having a squirrel. I'm so totally stoked! All my other friends are having (human) baby boys or girls. I'm glad you guys are being different about this! Besides, shopping for nuts is much more fun than shopping for onsies - at least to those of us who aren't parents! Cashews, walnuts, pecans, smoked, salted, natural - oh the endless possibilities!
